Today is ultimately the most excited we have been all week. Why? Well, last night we were sent the new Black Light Dinner Party single, and my word is it brilliant. The quartet of US-based producers stormed onto the scene with the release of their first single ‘Older Together’, sending the blogosphere into over drive.
Being honest, we didn’t really even need to listen to the track to know that the groups second release ‘Small Boxes’ would be something out of this world, and just when we thought it was impossible to produce such a storming follow-up to ‘Older Together’ this fine collection of producers have just turned things serious – constantly setting their bar even higher.
They have firmly cemented themselves as a Clixie favourite for the forseeable future, and as much as we can express our thoughts and opinions through as many words as possible, we are still possibly their biggest fans around right now. Doing a little bit of sneaky digging, it seems that what we’ve been treated to so far is only the start.

‘Track 5 of 5′ you read? You read right. It seems that the two releases to date are the beginnings of something oh so special, and never have we been excited about such an alternative electronic group in our lives. We’re purely speculating here, but the chances of seeing further releases or even an EP in the future aren’t outrageous suggestions in the slightest.
Without further ado it’s about time you took a listen to the latest release. Another immaculate offering sees perfectly crafted & elegant vocals supported by a whole heap of drenched basslines, a thick balanced backing beat and a world of vintage electronics to enjoy all in one place – world, prepare yourselves for ‘Small Boxes’:
Chances are you’ve probably been left a little in awe after that listen, but if you’ve happened to pull yourself together by now there’s even more good news. As was the case with ‘Older Together’, you can grab a free download of ‘Small Boxes’ from Black Light Dinner Party’s Soundcloud page here.
